Houston, Texas – November 30, 2024 – The historic LULAC Council 60, a pillar of advocacy and community service for Latino civil rights, will mark its 90th anniversary with an celebratory gala on Saturday, November 30, 2024. The event will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The event will highlight the legacy of LULAC Council 60 as one of the oldest councils in the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), an organization renowned for its long-standing fight for Latino rights and equality in the United States.
The gala promises an evening of celebration, reflection, and commitment to the future. Distinguished community leaders, former council presidents, elected officials and other special guests will honor the council’s contributions over the past nine decades, including landmark achievements in education, political engagement, and economic empowerment for Houston’s Latino community. Guests will enjoy dinner, live music, and tributes to LULAC Council 60’s legacy.

LULAC Council 60 has long been instrumental in advancing civil rights, from supporting landmark court cases to advocating for policy reforms in housing, education, and health care. This 90th Anniversary Gala will be a platform to share these stories and inspire the next generation of leaders to continue LULAC’s work.
